Happy Monday Everyone!! As you may know, my Mountain Cur Gypsy, LOVES the dog beach. We try to take her as often as possible. If we aren't at the Montrose Dog Beach then we bring her to the local dog parks as well. No matter where we are, she loves to run and swim and of course get messy!
With a large dog, bath time can get time consuming, expensive and achy for our bodies.
We used to bring Gypsy to our favorite pet store because they have a pet wash station. It isn't too expensive either, $25 for 5 washes. However, finding the energy to go was always the issue. Esteban and I would prefer to wash Gypsy at home because after a long day of playing and driving it seemed more comfortable to wash her in our own space. Plus you never know how full the stations are. There was one time Gypsy was so sandy that we couldn't pass on a bath and all three tubs were full. We ended up bringing her home and washed her ourselves, which got us thinking... is there an attachment that could make this easier? Esteban thought he could make one so we went over to Walmart to see which supplies they had that could help. While we were on our way to the hardware section, when we passed the pet supplies and stumbled upon this wonderful device that has truly changed our doggy parent lives!
The Waterpik Pet Wand Pro Dog Shower Attachment!!! BTW this is not a sponsored post whatsoever! I didn't post the link because you can buy it at multiple places, we got our at Walmart and I have seen it on Amazon and Chewy websites. We paid in store $34.98 and it was truly the best $35 I have ever spent on my dog.
This attachment can work outside on a garden hose or inside in your shower, plus it only took 5 minutes to install. I could not get a good picture of the water coming out, but the it is a rain type of water fall. No matter how high you have the water pressure on, the water comes out so gently. The purple knob you see changes the settings.
When I think of bath time before this attachment, I can remember that Gypsy would be terrified to get into the bathroom, let alone the bathtub. With the loud and heavy water on it would be disturbing to all of us. Plus, it would take forever to wash her down. With a handheld water attachment, the water is quiet and we can wash specific spots, including underneath her belly, which was always the most difficult. Yesterday, we didn't even have to force (with an immense amount of treats) Gypsy into the tub, she walked right in herself!
I would 100% recommend this tool if you wash your dog at home or would like to start. I won't be going back to washing Gypsy without this shower attachment. We never brought her to the groomer either, but I know that some places charge over $100 per wash, that's crazy to me if you have the time to do it at home. Now it only takes us around 15 minutes. This company has thought of everything! If you look at the picture above, it comes with a suction cup hook which you can place anywhere on the wall, so when you are actually washing and need to free up a hand, you can place it on the hook instead of having to change positions and hook it back on the shower head.
Honestly, this water attachment has made bath time so much easier and actually fun! So fun Gypsy let me take pictures of her in the bathtub. Let me know if you are going to try this attachment or other trick you have to getting your pet all cleaned up!
